Abstract

RESP atomic charges for the central fragment of dimethylalanine, NHC(Me)2CO, (charges derived using N-Acetyl-dimethylalanine-N'-methylamide; conformation close to that found in an alpha helix: phi = -65.11, psi = -30.51) based on the Connolly surface algorithm and the HF/6-31G* theory level. Charges suitable for MD simulations using the Cornell et al. AMBER force field (and/or its adaptations). Molecular orientation of the optimized structure controlled using the rigid-body reorientation algorithm implemented in R.E.D. (four mol. orientations).
